1.         A copy of naturalization certificate or certificate of citizenship issued by USCIS or the former INS

2.         A copy of birth certificate, issued by a civil registrar, vital statistics office, or other civil authority

3.         A copy of Form FS-240, Report of Birth Abroad of a Citizen of the United States, issued by a U.S. Embassy or consulate

4.         A copy of Unexpired US passport

5.         An original statement from a U.S. consular officer verifying that you are a U.S. citizen with a valid passport.

Documents to Prove Relationship

1.         A copy of your marriage certificate

2.         Wedding ceremony or wedding pictures

3.         If either you or your spouse were previously married, submit copies of documents showing that all prior marriages were legally terminated, such as divorce decree

4.         Documentation showing joint ownership or property

5.         A lease showing joint tenancy of a common residence

6.         Joint credit card statement

7.         Joint bank statement

8.         Utility bills

9.         Airline tickets or boarding passes you traveling together

10.     Photos taken together

11.     Birth certificate(s) of child(ren) born to you, the petitioner, and your spouse together

12.     Evidence of correspondence to prove your relationship, such as letters, emails, remittance slips, chat history.

13.     Affidavits sworn to or affirmed by third parties having personal knowledge of the bona fides of the marital relationship.

14.     Letters from the employers of both parties, describing the employee's detailed marriage status and the beneficiary of the company's interests

15.     Any other relevant documentation to establish that there is an ongoing marital union.

 

Note  All documents not in English must be accompanied by certified English translations. A competent translator must certify the translation and swear to the accuracy of the document before a notary public.
