Adjustment of Status (AOS) is a procedure allowing the spouse of U.S Citizen already in the U.S., who are eligible to receive an immigrant visa and for whom immigrant visa number is immediately available, to apply for immigrant status with the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS).
Spouse of a U.S Citizen needn’t wait for the quotas, and can file I-485 concurrently with I-130 petition or file I-485 individually.
